Heather's Story: A Christmas Miracle

God knows how to bless us!

My name is Heather, I am a single mom. I always wanted to be a mother, but I knew doing it alone wouldn't be easy and I needed help. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, motions took effect so we would have what we needed, and I could learn the necessary tools to be a parent.

I first found out I was pregnant while living in Florida. I moved back to NJ to live with my mom, having no income and no job. I started researching organizations that could help me and I found The Open Door Pregnancy Center of Toms River. What a life changer! I learned so much and it really got me back on my feet.

This Christmas Season my heart is full!

I have a beautiful, thriving four-year-old son who continues to be my world. It’s been almost five years since I first called The Open Door to make an appointment. They were a Godsend then and I feel like I will always be connected to this amazing ministry in some way or another.

Fast forward to today, I have a job, a condo of my own and returned to school - working on my masters now! What an amazing journey the last several years have been. I know the adventure will continue. As we give thanks this holiday season; look around at the beauties of the earth, acknowledge all that you have, and please remember to thank our Lord.
