When Bethany (name changed for privacy) first came to The Open Door Pregnancy Center, her life felt like it was falling apart. She was unexpectedly pregnant, facing homelessness, and convinced that abortion was her only option. With no family nearby and nowhere to turn, she walked through our doors, desperate and afraid.
At The Open Door, Bethany received a free pregnancy test, an ultrasound, and caring options counseling. For the first time, she felt heard and supported. After her appointment, Bethany made the courageous decision to carry her pregnancy to term.
From there, her journey of hope began. She enrolled in our parenting classes and faithfully attended, learning the skills she would need to care for her little one. Through monthly visits to our Baby Boutique, she was able to receive essential baby supplies—everything from diapers to clothing—free of charge. Our staff also connected her with housing referrals, which eventually led to a small apartment where she could prepare to welcome her daughter.
Today, Bethany is thriving as a new mom. She often shares that she cannot imagine where she would be if she hadn’t come to The Open Door. Her story is a powerful reminder that when women are offered compassion, practical resources, and hope, they can choose life—even in the most difficult of circumstances.
